Collections: Fixing The Tags

One of the reasons I wanted to get into stamping is because I absolutely love having my name on things, and I'd always see the hand stamped jewelry and want to buy some! Now that I have a set of letters, I can make my own.

When I was debating which shapes to buy (aluminum because I'm not allergic to that) it took a while to make up my mind. Especially since there are SO many shops out there to purchase supplies from! Then I saw the cutest little dog tags and I knew exactly which shapes I needed.

I don't know if you know this, but I have a dog tag collection that kind of documents important moments in my life? Kind of? And the last set I ordered from a cool etsy shop called Crafty Tagz - they engraved my killjoy ones. Only problem was that was kind of for a costume and I never wanted to wear the big one (with the costume name on it). I'd meant to order a new one from them with my actual name, only.. then... I got stamps....

I'm so happy with how this one turned out!

If you're asking what the little one means - My favorite band, My Chemical Romance, broke up this past spring. Three years ago for their Danger Days tour I'd ordered a special set of tags - one with a "killjoy character" name on it and the other with my favorite songs - "I am not afraid to keep on living" is from Famous Last Words (my ABSOLUTE favorite of theirs) and the second is "Save Yourself (I'll Hold Them Back)", my second favorite. Their music means so much to me, and I'm glad we had them as long as we did.

This is one of the first things I did when I got my shapes last Friday! (That and put on my new shoes, which came at the same time.) I'm tickled.

What about you guys? Any cool collections?

  1. Very nice work! I love the look of the stamped text (ditto on the strange metal allergies... I'm allergic to nickel... which is in everything... I used to get really bad irritation on my ears because most earring posts are nickel. Sterling silver is so soft, the posts would break and I'd end up with a bunch of singles instead of sets... I just gave up...)

PS Finally decided to give some MCR a go, and got The Black Parade on CD from the library (I use the library for everything). Liking it a lot!

  2. Aww, I love the dog tag necklaces - they're just too fun!

  3. My weirdest "collection" is probably my All Saints boxes. From the few times I've been able to order directly from the All saints website, I kept all the boxes to use for stuff.

Also I have a dogtag with one of my screen names on it! I should get a picture of it.
