OOTD: Sherlock Holmes

When I am in lurves with something, I have a tendency to want to wear things that remind me of that passion. For instance, I am OBSESSED with My Chemical Romance and almost daily have something on me with MCR lyrics or pics or something.

I started reading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes books for research, and I've loved every moment of it. I was already pretty addicted to the BBC TV show Sherlock and the Sherlock Holmes movies (Robert Downey Jr. IS the ONE TRUE SHERLOCK!). So I thought, with all this Sherlock love I'm feeling lately, I'd make an ever so subtle fan tribute.

Dress: Handmade & Hand Stenciled, Shoes: Converse, Jacket: DIY
I think you can deduce from my expression that I lurves this dress.
I've been planning this post since my first Love List and I've got to say that it turned out just as I'd have wanted it to! The dress on it's own was too plain, but with this little stencil I think I'll get a lot more wear out of it! And I got so many compliments on it at work!

Also, I'd like to mention, if you're a new follower and would like me to follow back, comment with your blog or tumblr below! I'd love to follow back but that google follower thing is giving me a hard time about finding your blogs! <3

See you soon!

  4. I love the stencil! I am a fan of MCR's "The Black Parade" - what would you recommend as a follow-up?

    1. Hi Sheila! If you're looking for more MCR, I recommend Danger Days to most people because it's more mainstream than their other albums. It's got some catchy numbers, beautiful lyrics, and the videos and whole world they built around that album was crazy good. I also like their Conventional Weapons songs.

I really love everything they did, and I'm a mega fan of their older stuff, but that can be a little punk rock. If you like that vibe, check out their first album, I bought you the bullets. Demolition Lovers is one of my favorite songs. ^_~ You can tell. I'm a crazed fan girl!

  5. I love! Robert Downey Jr is such an amazing actor, I haven't seen him in Sherlock - Mitchell and Webb, an English comedy duo did a sketch as them as Sherlock and Watson - it's on youtube and although comedic it is breathtakingly poignant and superbly acted - had to share! your homage dress is gorgeous (I like all your dresses!)x and it would be lovely if you can follow me, I hope my link thingy on my name works x

    1. Michelle and Webb's series ending is one of the saddest and best things I've ever seen! I just died when I saw it. (A few years back my boyfriend and I powered through the whole series- I made him a tee that says "It's Numberwang!" on the front!) Definitely check out the RDJ movies, they are really wonderful.

  7. I deduce that you're a hottie, and the only thing that could make this dress better is if you were flanked by actual Holmeses.

Imma have to get you to stencil a bee on this dress I have that's cute, but sort of plain. ;P
