OOTD: Not Good

So July wasn't such a great month for me, but August is starting off pretty nice! I'm playing a cool game with one of my friends that has kept us pretty occupied. I'm planning some new dresses. Speaking of...

Necklace: Gift/Altered, Shoes: Converse, Dress: Handmade

Guys, I have been arguing with this dress pattern for a month. The first time I made it, I had cut according to measurements and it came out really big. This is the smaller version, and for some reason I still don't like it, even though it's my favorite style of dress. I *think* it's still too long. I think. But I'm not sure. Just something about it is making me "eh" over it. I'm like, God, all that fabric and I could have had a Lisette dress! Do you ever do that? Find yourself wearing the same thing? I know I've been having trouble with my Lisettes, but at least I know that they work. They work on me, they work for me, and I wear them tons. I don't know about this. I'm going to try and make it shorter (my one friend agreed that the length was off) but I don't know if that will fix it entirely. What do you think?

I'm going to go off and play with Megan Mae! I'll talk to you guys later! Hope you're having a beautiful week.

  1. I think you are talented, it's pretty and it looks like an easy dress to wear (I have some stiff, awkward dresses that I have to be in the mood to wear)I really like it just the way it is x

  2. The print is great. It needs to be a bit short and it looks big? under the arms--like hte bodice doesn't quite fit correctly.

  3. I like the length, I think something that might balance the longer skirt is narrowing the shoulders to straps rather than cap sleeves. A little like this? http://image.dhgate.com/albu_386263831_00-1.0x0/peach-v-neck-v-back-empire-waist-wide-straps.jpg

  4. This is so cute on you! It reminds me of my Smoking Lily ship dress. I think a nice wide belt and maybe a smidge shorter, but otherwise, I think this is amazing! And you made it? wow!

  6. I think it could be a wee bit shorter - but in general its adorable! You did a great job! I'm the same as you though, when I find a pattern I like I end up making it like a million times and I don't want to make anything else.
