Big City

On Friday morning, I got up at 5 AM to catch a train. I went to NYC to see my friend Ally for girl's day out shopping and eating foods and giggling, and let me tell you I needed it! July has not been a kind-to-Meghan month, but I've got plans to make the future better so I keep on truckin' along. Here are some of the awesome things that I saw in NYC with Ally.

Ally and I went into this neat thrift store where I found this Mexican pottery owl buddy for my aminal collection. ^_~ He fits right in! I noticed his leg had been repaired, but to me he's perfect. Ally also took me to this awesome vintage shop where she got a super cool dress! I need to go back to that shop. I NEED IT, ALLY! So, believe me, I'll be visiting my buddy more often because it was awesome. And the conversation! We had some amazing chats, which is good because I hope to be writing about Ally soon for Bella Q and it was a very inspiring day. Ally is a pretty amazing person. I was lucky to get the chance to hang out with her.

I stole the following photo from Ally's blog - one of the epic things we did was go to Minus 5, which is a bar made entirely out of ice. No, for reals, even the cups are made out of ice! It was really cool and I loved it. (Ha ha, cool.) So here you are, a pic of me bundled up drinking something called "Frozen A$$ets".

I had a great time, and I think living in Philadelphia has really helped me with my anxiety. The last few times I went to NYC I was super jittery and anxious, but having lived in and around Philly for the last six years, this time I didn't feel that at all! The only thing I was nervous about was making my train home. I was able to enjoy the sights instead of being so frazzled.

Go check out Ally's post because I wore a super cute dress and she took lots of pictures! (Click Here) In the mean time, how have you all been? Tell me! I've missed you so much. I hope I get to check in here more often.

  1. Great pictures! I didn't realize you'd snapped so many. Lovely.

It was a fun experience for both of us. We enjoyed ourselves and, even more important, we shared some deeply personal stuff. That's how you build a friendship. Thanks for opening up to me and letting me share with you. Hugs!

  3. What an awesome time!! Love the owl.
I laughed at the irony of being in an ice bar when it's been hellish hot here in the mid-atlantic!!

    1. 23 degrees F which is minus 5 degrees C, which is why it's named "Minus 5".
