Love List 3

After that last post, we all need a little bit of LOVE, right? ;-) So here is another cool list of things that are inspiring me right now!

Even though it's summed here and we're headed into heat (already averaging 92 or so degrees), I'm still on my jacket kick. Especially jean jackets, especially with embellishments. I find the cool textured flowers on this denim jacket a really inspiring color and I love the contrast with the blue denim. DIY, maybe ?

So even though it's summer, I had to post this adorable outfit. Two reasons - 1. My girls on the other side of the world are already in winter and I'm jealous, but they need inspiration, too. 2. I'm already wishing it were fall RIGHT NOW. I'm a winter baby, so I tend to prefer cool climates. I love everything about this look- the bag, the coat, the tights, the booties and the dress and the necklace - JUST EVERYTHING! I just have to get through the next four months, right?

This awesome blanket made out of vintage sheets (I think, that's what the pin said) is really inspiring to me because it looks easy to make. My favorite quilt that I've had since I was 5 bit the bullet two years ago and I need a new one. I'm thinking about trying a DIY and making something like this! I rarely do home decor posts on this blog, so it would be something cool to show you guys.

This bag is so cool. Actually, I'd been looking for a cool olive-military inspired messenger bag to use as my every day purse because none of the regular purses I was finding were big enough. After seeing several images like this around pinterest, I finally found a similar bag in a thrift store for $4.00! It's been the best bag for all occasions.

I LOVE these vintage inspired puppy plushes! How cute are they? Like something you'd win at a carnival in the 50's. (Anyone else hearing Grease songs in their heads right now?)

Speaking of the vintage look, it's summer again which means it's time for me to bust out my bandanas and start rocking looks like the one above. This girl is so cute with her ink and her nose piercing- I love her look. (Also, those star earrings are wonderful.)

I don't suppose anyone else wants to do a bird pin swap? ;-) I love the detail in this little guy and he would look so rad on one of my jackets. (I stole the word rad from Trees because it's awesome and she says it sometimes.)

So there you have it, just a little bit of picture inspiration to get you through the week. Last week my sewing machine died, but that's okay because my loving boyfriend replaced it! So now my Sherlock (what I named my overlocker) has a Watson (what I've named my sewing machine). I'm going to go get crafting. Until next time!

  2. I love rad!! Also I love saying ace;) its not that nz is stuck in the 80s.....its just me that's stuck in the 80s ;) LOVE that first jacket, its so you!!! I made a simple lap/tv quilt last year & it was actually pretty easy (in my head I thought it was impossibly hard!) You could totally do that! Lets add bird pin swap to our list of swaps. We need to get started:)

  5. I might be rocking the bandanas again this summer, too... (I have quite the collection from when I grew out my hair the last couple times, post-pixie cut) I like the vintage style of tying them, but I've never actually thought to try it myself! Good inspiration.
