Theme: Ally's Dress

Back on my old blog, I had a thing called Theme Wednesdays. I did My Chemical Romance themes, Sherlock themes, friends and family themes- it was great and a lot of fun! So I'm bringing the idea over into this blog. I'm not going to keep in on Wednesdays- I think I'll just do theme posts as I want, although Theme Fridays sound like a great idea. What do you guys think?

Here is my first Cirque du Frock theme post - and it's dedicated to "Ally-My-Darling" as I call her or Shybiker Ally as the rest of the internet calls her. ;-) You see, Ally did something really sweet for my birthday and sent me a special little something to treat myself with. So what do I do? Of course I go fabric shopping! I decided that the best way to thank Ally for just being the best I would go shopping and buy fabric inspired by one of her posts and do a theme just for her. I was very inspired by her fifties style post because I LOVE blue and polka dots! And I found similar fabric in both blue and pink. So I could have done that...

But when I was walking down the isle I saw a special bolt of fabric...

It screamed Ally...

It screamed Meghan...

And I knew this was the dotted dress fabric of my dreams. So I present what I've come to think of as the Ally-My-Darling dress.

Dress: Handmade/Me, Jacket: DOTS, Boots: Dr Marten Triumph
Of course, I had to wear it with my new purple docs! But this happened to be an especially warm day this winter and I quickly found out that it was too hot to wear these shoes and I decided to go with my Blowfish boots instead.

Sorry this took so long to post, Ally! I've had this fabric since January, but I only just finished the dress a few weeks ago. Anyway, Ally is an awesome blogger and an AWESOME friend and I really hope I get to hang out with her again soon!

    1. Kezzie, you'd be fine! This is the most super easy pattern on the world- almost only 4 pieces. :-) Definitely only 4 if you use bias tape on the neck. SO EASY.

Thank you so much! Your comment made me smile!
